Whole Wheat Pancakes made lighter...
I am pretty excited today! Not only is one of my most favorite people in the whole world coming to visit me (yep that's you sis!) but I just found a way to make my Whole Wheat Pancakes even better!!!
First off my sister flies in this morning to spend a week just hanging out with T, me and the kids. How lucky am I? This means shopping, lunches, long walks on the beach and just hanging out with the one person in the world that knows me best (and still likes me!).
Now onto the incredible pancakes!
Whole Wheat Pancakes (Weight Watchers point value...2 pancakes=3 points)
2 cup whole wheat flour
2 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1-3/4 cup milk
4 Tbs unsweetened apple sauce
1 mashed banana
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
In a smaller bowl mix the banana, applesauce, milk and eggs.
Add wet ingredients to the dry and stir until just moist.
Cook on an electric griddle or fry pan.
This makes about 16 pancakes but the girls like the heated up the next day or even cold from the fridge as a snack! Recipe halves well for less pancakes!

I love pancakes and whole wheat are even yummier!
Those look delicious! How great that your sister will be there for a whole week!
Ahhh, gotcha...add some banana and apple sauce to spruce up the pancakes.
Enjoy your time with sis!
It's always nice to spend time with people that know you very well (and still like you, LOL) I just spend a whole weekend with my family and friends and that was great. Nice pancakes! How do you calculate the WW points?
Those are pancakes that I would have no problem digging into!! Looks great!
These look great! I'll definitely be giving them a try.
You know I love pancakes but try to availd them because of the calories. This recipe is great.
Have an awesome visit with your sister Judy! :) I am sure you will have some wonderful time together!
Pancakes are the bomb, I'll have to try this recipe. :)
Ok, must. try. these.
Love pancakes with mashed-in banana and love them served with apple sauce, great idea to combine all of that!
Will white whole wheat flour work just as well in these?
Have fun with your sister! :)
Yum! These look delicious. Love the idea of putting the banana and applesauce in them. : )
My husband discovered this recipe and has been making these pancakes for Saturday morning breakfast every week. They are DELICIOUS! And healthy! Thanks so much for such a great recipe! My husband is so proud of himself for finding it. : )
Very yum looking recipe for lighter and fluffier pancakes. Maybe try doctor grandmas delight, which is a great all natural sugar substitute w/o calories that I've found. It's the best splenda/sugar replacement I've found. I really like your incorporating apple sauce - yay!!!
As the parents of 5 kids, we are trying to incorporate more wheat into our diet. These were awesome! The kids ate them up without any hesitation.
I just made your pancakes after doing a search for whole wheat. They were so light and yummy! My family loved them! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this recipe - making them as we speak, in early spring in New York City :-)
Mmmmmm...making these for my son. He loves them. I make a lot and flash freeze them to last me a couple of weeks. Thanks.
