Is it about the pork steak or the incredible, scrumptious, fresh, early season corn???

See that huge pork steak??? Hardly got touched...but that beautiful corn didn't stand a chance!!!

This post was suppose to be about the incredible pork steaks that I found in the grocery store. They were Publix Greenwise so they contained no antibiotics or hormones. I was pretty excited by them and rushed home and made up the marinade for them: Soy sauce, fresh ginger and minced garlic cloves. Super easy and delicious tasting.

As I said thought I was real excited about them, that is, until I tasted this CORN!!! I got this corn at my local farmer's market at Cape Harbor. We sort of bought it as an after thought when we were just leaving and figured the girls would love it. We did not buy nearly enough!!! This stuff was incredible. Probably the best corn I have had in years. I don't know anything about it but I do know that my MIL loves corn and seeing as we are going up there soon I am going to grab her a bunch and take it up to her!!!

As Always...

Happy Entertaining!!!

  1. love your blog and recipes. Especially Lemoncello drinks! Scrumptious. Are you enjoying Animal, Vegetable, Miracle? I have only read a few pages and can't seem to get into it.

  6. Judy - I for one, love the chop! But my 3 children are the same - corn all the way! When I make it, they eat nothing else unless forced. The local stuff has just started getting good here in PA. My nana calls what you have pictured 'butter and sugar corn', mostly yellow with some white. The white corn will start coming soon. That, too is yummy. Excellent plain and in sooo many recipes. My friend does a corn friter to die for.

BTW, loved the limoncello with the soda. You were so right - too sweet all by itself!

  11. There's nothing quite like some good corn. Out of season, its a meh vegetable, but when you luck out and get it at its peak, its certainly a force to be reckoned with!

  19. I just found your blog and fell in love. I love to cook too. The corn...it looks like Peaches N Cream corn, which is a really sweet and scrumptious corn. When we go pick it you can usually find several of us eating it raw on the cob, it is that good!
